Pamukkale- ‘Cotton Castle’

and the adventure continues! Next flight was from Kayseri to Izmir, then an hour’s drive to the coastal town of Kusadasi. Had to be a journey to remember through the maze like roads on the edge of a mountain. Didn’t help that our driver was shouting histerically on the phone to his manager whilst attempting every left and right turn. Yes, I was quite scared…. Well, arrived in one piece and had the day off to explore Kusadasi. The next day it was a 3 hours drive to visit the long awaited cotton castle (pamukkale). It’s not really made out of cotton… it’s calcium carbonate deposits that has formed a terraces (almost like paddy fields). Some areas were open to the public for a dip in the shallow pools. It’s an amazing place, so unique and one of my favourite places on this trip. The pictures above are of the Antique pool. You can see the ruins and the russians!
